  • Grand National: Scheduled for 15 April, the Grand National is one of the UK’s biggest horse racing events. Taking place at Aintree, it includes three days of racing, including the famous Steeplechase.

  • Cinco de Mayo: Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration that takes place on 5 May to commemorate the anniversary of the Mexican victory over the French in 1862.

  • The French Open: Otherwise known as Roland-Garros, The French Open is a big tennis tournament held over two weeks starting in late May each year. Founded in 1891, it is played on clay and has a prize pot of over EUR 42 million.
  • Memorial Day: Held on 29 May, Memorial Day is held yearly to commemorate US military personnel who have lost their lives while serving in the Armed Forces.

  • NBA Finals: Taking place between 1-18 June, the NBA Finals are the annual championship series of the National Basketball Association, which includes a best-of-seven series of games.

  • Father’s Day: Father’s Day is on Sunday, 18 June every year, and is an international holiday for honoring fatherhood and the influence of fathers in society and family life.

July Sporting Events

  • Independence Day: July 4 is the biggest celebration in the US calendar and a federal holiday. It commemorates the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified on July 4, 1776, and marked the official establishment of the United States of America.
  • Tour de France: Tour de France is the world’s most famous bicycle race, which takes place in France. A men’s race, also occasionally passes through neighboring countries, and it occurs with 21 stages, each a day long, over 23 days.   • Wimbledon Tennis: Taking place in Wimbledon, London, this is one of the most famous tennis events of all time.
